About this policy
Salati by Plugarti provides prayer times, local prayer tracking, reminders and a Qibla compass. No account is required. This policy describes version 0.9.0 of Salati: Prayer Times & Qibla. It is available inside the app without an internet connection. Plugarti is an independent software developer brand and is not a separate incorporated entity.
The initial public release is intended for adults aged 18 and over in the United States and is English-only. The review date is not an effective date. The public privacy-policy address is https://salati.plugarti.com/privacy. The effective date is set when this policy is publicly deployed.
Prayer history and preferences on your device
Prayer completion records are stored in the app's local database. Your saved location, calculation choices, reminder choices and appearance preferences are stored locally too. Salati does not upload your prayer completions, history or madhab setting to Firebase, and does not record or send a history of compass headings.
There is no Salati account, cloud sync or Salati-operated backend. The app does not integrate Firebase Authentication, Firestore or Cloud Storage. Prayer calculation, tracking, saved-location Qibla calculations and scheduled local prayer reminders do not depend on a successful Firebase connection.
Location and the compass
You may enter coordinates and a timezone manually or choose to use device location. With foreground permission, Salati can request a current position or use a suitable recent last-known position. Location helps calculate prayer times and Qibla direction and set up your saved place. Salati does not request background location tracking. Compass readings are used while the compass feature is active.
Your saved coordinates, place labels and timezone stay in local app storage and are not sent as Firebase custom event data. When obtaining a place name from coordinates, Android's geocoder and location providers may contact platform services. Their processing depends on your device and provider; we cannot promise that no location information leaves the device through those services. Manual entry does not invoke Salati's reverse-geocoding request. A device-timezone fallback may be shown for you to review.
Help improve Salati
Help improve Salati is ON by default in the production configuration. It controls Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Performance Monitoring. You can turn it OFF in Settings → Privacy & Diagnostics and continue using the core app. These services collect usage and diagnostic information that Salati does not tie to a user account or name. They use app-instance or installation identifiers; diagnostic data is not fully anonymous.
Analytics measures app use, including sessions, generic screen openings, onboarding completion and location-setup completion. For example, opening Qibla or History can be reported, but compass readings, prayer records, coordinates and selected calculation values are not included as custom event parameters. Firebase also records supported automatic events and app/device information, and may infer a general location from network information. Salati does not set a custom user ID or religious-profile property.
Crashlytics helps investigate crashes and technical errors. Reports may include stack traces, app state, device/operating-system information and a Crashlytics installation identifier. When Analytics is enabled, recent app events may appear as crash breadcrumbs. Salati's custom reports use reviewed technical labels, not your entered text or original caught error messages. Automatic native crash reports can contain technical context beyond those labels.
Performance Monitoring measures startup, rendering and network performance, including resource use and device information. It can process IP information to determine country. Our custom operational-configuration timing trace has no personal attributes. Firebase Sessions also supplies session timing and app/device/network metadata for crash and performance quality reporting.
What happens when diagnostics are turned off
Salati stops initiating its custom diagnostic events, errors and traces after the opt-out takes effect in the app, and requests SDK collection disablement and deletion of unsent crash reports. Crashlytics native collection changes fully apply on the next launch: close and reopen Salati after changing the setting. SDK settings saved on the device can apply before the app finishes loading.
Reports already sent or being uploaded cannot be recalled by switching diagnostics off. This setting does not remove previously stored server reports, disable every Firebase connection, or change local prayer reminders.
Operational configuration and technical identifiers
Firebase Remote Config checks operational switches for optional diagnostics and product updates. Firebase Installations supplies a per-installation identifier used by Firebase services. Configuration requests can include app version, language, timezone, country and platform information, even when Help improve Salati is OFF. There is no separate in-app opt-out for this configuration traffic.
Remote switches cannot override your local diagnostic opt-out in Salati's collection controls. They do not change prayer calculations or tracking records. Failed configuration requests do not prevent use of core features. Salati uses cached settings or local defaults when offline.
Optional product announcements
Product updates & announcements is OFF by default and is separate from prayer reminders. When you enable it and the service is available, Firebase Cloud Messaging registers this installation and subscribes it to the generic salati_product_updates topic. A registration token and technical app information are used to deliver announcements. Supported message-interaction events may also be recorded when Analytics is enabled.
Turning product updates off disables automatic FCM initialization and requests deletion of the messaging token. Cleanup can depend on connectivity and is retried through normal app refreshes if it fails. This is not deletion of the Firebase installation identifier or all Google-held data. Android notification permission controls whether notifications may be displayed. Scheduled prayer reminders remain local and do not use FCM.
Providers, advertising and transfers
Google processes information through the Firebase and Analytics services described here. Device location/geocoding providers may also process requests. Provider processing can take place outside your country. See the service privacy information linked below. Firebase App Distribution is separate developer/tester infrastructure, not a tester SDK added to the public app.
Salati has no advertising or Google Ads integration and does not sell user data. Advertising-ID collection and ad-personalization signals are disabled in the app configuration. We do not describe provider processing as anonymous merely because no name is supplied.
Storage, retention and deletion
Local history and preferences remain until you change them or remove the app's data. Android Settings → Apps → Salati → Storage → Clear data, or uninstalling Salati, removes its local sandbox. This is destructive and is not an instruction to clear data now. Salati disables Android app backup and has no in-app cloud restore. Device/provider copies outside the sandbox are not covered by this action.
Turning diagnostics off or uninstalling does not erase reports already received by Google. Provider retention differs by service and may include a later backup-removal period. Firebase currently documents a 90-day crash-report retention period and 30/60-day categories for Performance data before removal begins. Analytics retention depends on property settings. Installation and messaging identifiers have separate lifecycles.
Salati currently has no account-based deletion tool or way to reliably connect a support request to all pseudonymous Firebase records. It does not expose an installation-ID deletion or Analytics reset control. Deleting an FCM token is not a general cloud-data deletion request. We cannot promise individualized deletion of all previously transmitted diagnostics. You may request deletion of identifiable support correspondence by emailing support@plugarti.com. This does not promise deletion of pseudonymous Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics records, Firebase installation identifiers, or other provider-held data that Salati cannot reliably associate with your email address.
Security and your choices
Firebase and Analytics document encryption in transit. Local data uses Android's app sandbox; Salati does not add its own database encryption layer. No storage or transmission system is risk-free, and platform geocoder transport has not been independently verified on every provider. Protecting access to your device is important.
You can deny device-location access and enter a location manually, disable optional diagnostics or product announcements, and manage notification permissions in Android. These are separate choices. Salati's initial release is intended for adults aged 18 and over, not children. There is no in-app age-verification system. Availability outside the United States is not planned for this release; future expansion will require a separate privacy and localization review.
Changes and contact
We will update this policy when the app's data practices change. Review dates and the effective date will be updated when changes take effect. Material changes may also require an in-app notice or renewed consent.
